Welcome to Raudondvaris Castle on October 12-14 for the annual General Assembly of the Association of Castles and Museums Around the Baltic Sea and the international conference “Politics and perspectives of protection of the Cultural Heritage”.

 

Join us for three days, during which members of the association will have the opportunity to meet, get acquainted and have a good time with the new members from Lithuania. Raudondvaris Castle will be a place for exciting discussions, interesting excursions and pleasant relaxation during coffee breaks.

 

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12th
The event will begin with the General Assembly of the Association, our 32nd meeting! Main points - review and auditing reports of the previous year, presentations of new members, planned activities for the next year.
Before we meet up for dinner in Raudondvaris restaurant, the work of the two respective organizations will be presented. In the next few days, we are willing to inspire you to make new connections and friends.

 

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13th
Conference “Politics and perspectives of protection of the Cultural Heritage”
During the day, we will have the opportunity to discuss issues on the restoration, reconstruction, and renovation of cultural heritage, share our experience on the inclusion of historical buildings in the activities of contemporary cultural processes and discuss how we can cooperate as colleagues and institutions to create an emotional, educational and high-quality experience of getting to know our cultural heritage.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14th
On this day, we offer an excursion to the historical places of the Kaunas region – one of the oldest brick buildings in Lithuania Zapyška Sv. John the Baptist Church, wooden architecture of Kačergine, Kaunas fortresses, Tadas Ivanauskas homestead and botanical park Obelynė, Pypliai mound, Babtynas manor and other cultural heritage objects of Kaunas district.

It looks like we will be able to meet in person for the days we have planned at Raudondvaris castle, Kaunas district in Lithuania, but we still reserve the right to possibly cancel the in-person meeting. In this case, we will adapt the event to be carried out in an entirely digital form.

 

Participation fee: one person from each institution, a member of the Association of Castles and Museums around the Baltic Sea, as well as senior members of the Association can participate in the event free of charge. The participation fee for each next person is 50 Eur (incl. 21% VAT).
The participation fee includes all meals, coffee breaks, and activities.
